My favourite 5 seasons of Rupaul's Drag Race (US only)

Hello gorgeous people, hope you are having a wonderful day, today i'll be sharing my top 5 of Drag Race Seasons without including international ones, i'm going to post my top 5 of international seasons on another day, so stay tuned for that. So before starting the ranking, want to give you the usual warning of SPOILERS AHEAD. You have been warned. Let's start!

5. Rupaul's Drag Race Season 2

On number 5, I put Season 2. If you talk about being iconic, this season is full of iconic queens, lip syncs, looks, challenges and drama. Some of my favourite queens come from this season, such as Jujubee, Jessica Wild , Raven, Tatianna and Shangela (even though she was the first out). This season aired in 2010 and the cast has 12 queens with very different personalities. The winner of this season was Tyra Sanchez which for some people of the fandom, she was not deserving of the win because, in their opinion, she was (and still is) a nasty person. I agree with her being nasty but if you look at her whole journey throughout this season, she slayed almost every challenge, won 3 of them and was on the top several times so she was the one who did better, in a competitive aspect. Oh and she also never had to lip sync for her life, which on the early seasons, Rupaul and the judges would take that in consideration. Talking about lip syncs, this season had some amazing songs and my favourite lip sync was Jujubee vs Sahara Davenport (RIP) to "Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles in which Jujubee, despite being drunk, totally served on the performance and captivated everyone just by her emotions and still to this day, Juju is remembered for several things and that lip sync is one of them. Funny fact, the runner up of this season, Raven, she is the inspiration for many queens now in terms of makeup and also she is the one that does Rupaul's makeup since season 9. This season has a very special in my heart, i almost love every queen on this season and also almost all of them came back for an All Stars season which is a proof of how iconic this season is.

4. Rupaul's Drag Race Season 12

On number 4, I put Season 12. Almost a week before the season aired some scandal came out regarding the contestant Sherry Pie stating that she had some actions that consider her as a sexual predator and the production team made the decision of disqualifing her and then they had to edit the whole season all over again because Sherry was supposed to be Hero of the season but because of what happened, the main storyline of the season was erased. Knowing that, you would think the season wouldn't be good. And you're right, the season wasn't good, it was amazing. I got to know almost every queen, the runways were spectacular, my favourite one being the "Black Wedding" runway, the challenges were so good and creative and all the queens were so talented, so funny, so relatable and the lipsyncs almost all of them are still stuck in my head because of how amazing they were. My favourite queens from this season are Jaida Essence Hall, Crystal Methyd, Heidi N'Closet, Widow Von Du and Rock M Sakura. Another thing i want to point out, is that almost every queen has such a different style and that made me learn more about other types of drag which for me is amazing because there are no rules of how to Drag Queen, you can be whatever you want as long as you are happy with it. Because of the pandemic, the season reunion and finale had to be through Zoom but i have to congratule the team behind it because they made the best they could and the queens, on the finale, still put up an amazing show and it made me forget about the world's situation that we were living in, which is a plus. I'm glad that even with the scandal, this season was fabulous and worth watching over and over again.

3. Rupaul's Drag Race Season 5

On number 3, i put Season 5. Some fans say that this is the season where they started watching Rupaul's Drag Race and honetly this is an amazing season to start because the level of drama, talent and storylines is so high and exctiting to see. Many queens from this season are still famous to this day and also many of them came back to an All Stars Season and they slayed (Alaska even won All Stars 2). My favourite queens from this season are Jinkx Monsoon, Linesha Sparkx, Alyssa Hunter and Ivy Winters. If you have seen my list of favourite winners from the show, you'll know how mistreated Jinkx was by the other queens, especially by Roxxxy Andrews and Detox so seeing her win instead of them was very satisfying and also because Jinkx had the best track record out of the top 3. If the bullying of Jinkx had stopped, this season probably would have been even higher but since it didn't, it is on my number 3. This season is also remembered for the feud between Alyssa Edwards and Coco Montrese which was so exciting to see all of their fights, the way they would read each other and also the memes that came out of some of those fights are used several times by many. Their feud came to an end where both of them had to lipsync against each other (one of the best lipsyncs of the season) where Coco won and i have to say i watch that lipsync sometimes because how iconic it is and how much of a fight it is. I still rewatch it from time to time and everytime i do it, i love it even more. Season 5 definitely put this show on the map and since then, it has grown so much and is now a global phenomenon, as Rupaul says sometimes.

2. Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 6

On number 2, i put All Stars 6. This is the only season of All Stars on this list but i have to say that i really like All Stars seasons. This season, however, is more legendary than the others because almost every queen got an redemption, the challenges were so innovative, especially the "Pink Table Talk" challenge where i learned more about HIV, for example, if you are undetectable, you can't infect other people and that broke the stigma that i had about HIV. It's the first season where 2 trans queens (Kylie Sonique Love and Jiggly Caliente) are competing and one of them totally slayed the season and even ended up winnin the season, proving that after many years, she is ready for her reign. There were some queens that were on this season that i was not excited to see but i changed my opinion while watching the season and even fell in love with their personalities. The lipsyncs songs were so good and also the performances themselves were outstanding and the production team picked very well the lip sync assassins for this season, all of them were high level oponnents. This season also had the drama that i needed since there was a villain on this season that, at the same time, was so delusional and the way she was eliminated was so embarassing but also so hilarious, for me. It would very hard for another All Stars season to top this one but i never say never, we never know what they have in store. This season is very close to my heart and i think casting more than 10 queens on this type of season is the best thing that they can do because it makes it more interesting to watch. What a wonderful season, all the queens should feel proud of themselves.

1. Rupaul's Drag Race Season 6.

On the first place, I put Season 6. Seems like the winning number on this list, is 6. This season had it all, for me, the cast was so strong, the challenges were so different in order to showcase every queen's abilities, the drama was very interesting and on every episode it was different and for the time, the runways were always amazing. My favourites queens of this season are Bianca Del Rio, Adore Delano, Trinity K.Bonet, April Carrión and Joslyn Fox. Bianca is one of my favourite winners and also one of the strongest when it comes to track record but thank god that she didn't have to lip sync because if she did, probably the winner of this season would have been different. I have to say, this season also had one of the strongest Snatch Game which goes to show the level of talent of the queens. A lot of lip syncs assassins were on this season which means that the performances were amazing, legendary and still iconic. The judging on this season was also very accurate which also contributes for a season to be good and that way it doesn't feel that they have favouring some queens and mistreating others. This season is so entertaining and still memorable to this day. I don't think i can find enough words to describe how much i love this season. If i had to pick a season to rewatch over and over again, Season 6 would be the one, without a doubt. No season, so far, was able to beat Season 6 and would be hard to do that.
