Here's 5 Lip Sync Assassins from Rupaul's Drag Race
Hello gorgeous people, hope you are having a good day, so last time i talked about 5 underrated queens from Rupaul's Drag Race and today I'm going to talk about 5 lip sync assassins from the show. Basically for a queen to be considered a lip sync assassin she has to win some lip syncs and those lip syncs have to very memorable and iconic throughout the time. There are a lot of lip syncs assassins so in the future I will talk about another queens. Before talking about these queens, I want to give you the usual warning of SPOILERS AHEAD. You have been warned.
First up, we have Brooke Lynn Hytes. She competed on Season 11 of Rupaul's Drag Race where she placed 2nd and now she is the host of Canada's Drag Race. While she was competing, she lip synced 4 times and she won 3 of those lip syncs, losing only the final lip sync where the winner was Yvie Oddly. Being a professional dancer, I was certain that if Brooke ever landed on the bottom 2 she was going to give an amazing performance full of stunts such as splits, kicks, death drops and more and it turns out that i was right. Still to this day, her lip sync against Yvie Oddly with the song "Sorry Not Sorry" by Demi Lovato is so memorable and is one of the most deserving double saves from the show and they still perform that song together in some gigs that they do across the world. Brooke was later called for All Stars 6 to be a lip sync assassin and she went there where she had to lip sync against Ra'jah O'Hara (one of her sisters from Season 11) to "Miss You Much" by Janet Jackson. The lip sync was awesome, very sexy, full of energy and all kinds of stunts which made Rupaul declare both of them as winners, which i think is fair, both of them equally amazing. Since Brooke is a host of Canada's Drag Race, I'm not sure if she will be coming back to compete on another season but if she eventually does come back, she will be one of the strongest queens because she already proved that she is the total package and showed that to win a competition she is not afraid to eliminate big competition. Can't wait to see what she is going to do next.
Next up, we have Coco Montrese. She competed on Season 5 and on All Stars 2 where she placed 5th and 10th respectively. Coco entered season 5 being a pageant queen for quite some years and normally these type of queens know how to perform on a stage and Coco was not an exception. She had to lip sync 4 times winning 3 of those lip syncs and the one she lost was against Detox, who is also considered by many a lip sync assassin. Coco didn't have a stellar performance on Season 5, she did won a challenge but she could have done better in other challenges if she had left the drama outside of the competition but she couldn't. For those who don't know the story, Coco was in numerous fights with her castmate Alyssa Edwards and that whole drama was sealed when the two of them had to lip sync against each other. It was a close fight but Coco ended up winning which means, she sent Alyssa Edwards home and after that, both queens talked about everything and since then they are friends. On All Stars 6, she was called to be a lip sync assassin which she accepted and had to lipsync against Yara Sofia to "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars. Coco totally slayed the lipsync, bringing some good dance moves and also a very good reveal which made her stand out. What i love the most about Coco is that she doesn't need to do splits, death drops and some other stunts to stand out, she knows how to convey every emotion of a song just by making eye contact with the audience making you pay more attention to her and also when its needed she brings so much energy into her performance just by moving her body with simple dance moves. She has a drag daughter called Kahanna Montrese that competed on Season 11 where she placed 14th and even though she was an early out, she still proved that she learned how to lip sync from her drag mom. I would love to see Coco come back to compete again but i'm not sure if that would happen.
Next up, we have Denali. She competed on Season 13 of Rupaul's Drag Race where she placed 8th. Denali is the first queen from Alaska to compete on this show so it's quite obvious why she calls herself the Ice Queen and also why she loves to ice skate. When it comes to lip syncs, she was in 5 of them winning 3 but all of them were so memorable and even the ones she lost, many people think that she deserved to win them so you can say that performing is where Denali truly comes to life. Out of all the lipsyncs she did, my favourite is when she performed "100% Pure Love" by Crystal Waters. on that look on the left, against Kahmora Hall. From start to finish, you couldn't take your eyes of her, her dance moves were amazing, her interactions with the other queens, she even did some comedy during the performance showing why she nobody should go against her in a lip sync. Denali even made what seemed impossible which was to perform in ice skates on the main stage of Rupaul's Drag Race. She did that when she lip synced against Lala Ri to "When I grow up" by the Pussycat Dolls on the premiere of the season. In my opinion, Denali lost because her outfit started to fall off and she was trying to fix it which i think damaged her performance but she still put on a show and also Lala Ri is very fierce in a lip sync so Denali lost to someone who is also great at performing. She is very loved by the fandom not only because of her performing skills but also because she is funny, entertaining and very cute in and out of drag so after her elimination the fans started requesting her for an All Stars season and i think she will be in one of those seasons but only when she feels ready to go, until then she will continue to make a name for herself on her social media doing some makeup and also creating some funny/relatable videos.
Next up, we have Kameron Michaels. She competed on Season 10 where she placed 2nd/3rd. Kameron is the first queen ever to win 3 lip syncs in a row and in total she won 5 out of 6 lipsyncs which makes, in my opinion, one of the strongest lip sync assassins on this list and also on this show. Kameron is one of my favorites queens that has competed on the show for many reasons the main one being the fact that she is a fighter and even when the odds were against her, she didn't gave up and kept going until the last moment which shows that when performing she feels strong, powerful, confident, fearless and I love to see that. In almost all of her performances, she does the splits, dances a lot and even gets sexy if the song requires it. It's sad to see how a part of the fandom treated her when the season was airing because since she sent home some fan favourite people thought it was okay to send her hate and even some threats which doesn't make sense because why would you do that to a person that you don't even know and also it's just a reality tv show. Because of that hate, on the finale she was already feeling defeated but still put a fight and made it to the final lipsync which she lost. Just like Brooke and Coco, Kameron was invited to be a lip sync assassin on All Stars 6 and she also had to lip sync against Ra'jah O'Hara to "Boom Clap" by Charli XCX and Kameron came out victorious proving, yet again, why she was invited to be a lipsync assassin. She has expressed that probably she won't be coming back for an another season mainly because she doesn't want to deal with all the hate again and also because she is fully booked with many shows so she wouldn't have the time to be in a competition, which for me is sad because i would love to see her back on my screen but i also understand why she doesn't want to come back.
And lastly, we have Lala Ri. She competed on season 13 where she placed 10th. Like i mentioned earlier in this post, she was the one that defeated Denali on the premire of season 13 and she also defeated her castmate Joey Jay after her weak performance on the ball challenge. In total, Lala Ri lip synced 4 times and won half of them but even the ones she lost, she was still amazing and mesmerizing to watch, i truly love to see her perform especially considering the fact that at the time of the show she was a "Baby Queen", in other words, she started to drag recently. If there is a thing that Lala Ri shines is when she performs, she lights up the stage everytime and always have a smile in her face while performing which is so sweet and loveable. Throughout the season, she was always funny, sweet and relatable which justifies her being the miss congeniality of season 13 and also one of strong lip syncers of that same season. In my opinion, Lala Ri gets a little bit overlooked by the fandom, they seem to forget about her in general which kinda upsets me because she has so much talent and a heart of gold. I hope she gets back because from what i've seen on her social media she has evolved so much and has become so more polished in terms of looks which means that now her fashion sense is better, which is good because her runways most of the times were not successful but her personality was enough to save some of her outfits. I hope to see her back on my screen in a near future.
Well gorgeous people, I hope you like this list, in the future i will be talking about another lip sync assassins of the show because there is a lot more of them that i think you deserve to know about them. If you have another suggestions about which queens and i should talk next, feel free to express your preferences because i will take them in consideration. The review of the finale of UK Vs The World will be published on Thursday or on Friday but i will try my best to publish on Thursday. I hope you have a wonderful day. Talk to you soon. Bye 💖💖
